The Department of Nursing and Community Health is seeking to appoint an external examiner for the specialist course:
The Theory and Practice of Musculoskeletal Casting & Splinting.
This course constitutes part of the BSc Professional Studies in Nursing programme and is delivered by Glasgow Caledonian University in collaboration with the British Orthopaedic Association in 4 sites across the United Kingdom.
The course assessment includes OSCE examinations that are all undertaken in Stanmore RNOH, London.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified academic staff that will have experience of managing and assessing students on similar programmes. Experience of external examining would be an advantage, but is not essential. As an External Examiner you will be responsible only for the external moderation this module and will be invited to review a selection of scripts and comment on assessment content. You would be expected to attend two Assessment Boards and submit a written report each year.
The period of tenure is for four years and will commence as soon as is practical.
All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University. The University offers support for newly appointed external assessors.
