The Centre for Work-Based Learning and Continuing Development provides flexible, responsive and bespoke packages of learning to meet the continuing development needs of individuals, teams, services or organisations. The BSc Applied Practice programme sits within the Centre and is a part time programme with an emphasis on preparing the student to become an expert lifelong learner who has the capability and capacity to make a positive difference to practice, and is designed for registered professionals and graduate foundation degree students from the health and social care sector.

There are two main points of entry per academic year with Examination boards in March and September. We are looking to recruit to three posts due to the completion of tenure by some of our existing External Examining team.

We would especially welcome applications from subject specialist academics with experience of work based learning, return to practice requirements, or an interest in mentoring and facilitation of learning.

Applications from academics currently registered with a regulatory body (NMC /HCPC) and holding a higher degree qualification is required. A career involving experience as a subject or programme manager (e.g. Head of Department, Programme Director) is particularly welcome. Experience of external examining is preferred although not essential.

The appointment will start in the academic year 2016-2017 and be for a four year term.
