We are seeking an external examiner to start in April, 2020 for the BA Hons Social Work course, to take over from our current examiner who is completing her period of appointment. The University of Worcester provides a range of support for our external examiners, including induction workshops, an online Handbook of relevant information and support from the course team. We usually expect our external examiners to attend at least one examination board per year.
Applicants will need to meet the following criteria:
- Be a qualified social worker, registered with the professional body , Social Work England
- Have expertise in the design, delivery and assessment of undergraduate social work education, as evidenced by their current (or previous) post within a higher education establishment
- Previous experience of external examining is preferred, but if appropriate a suitable mentor will be appointed to support an eligible candidate.
- Have not worked for the University of Worcester during the last five years, or been involved in other approval or validation roles within the University,
Commencement date: the appointment will commence from April, 2020 for a period of 4 years.
