We are looking to appoint an External Examiner for our PG Dip / MA Advanced Mental Health Practice programme. The principle aim of the programme is to prepare students for the role of the Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 1983 (Amended 2007). The role of the Best Interest Assessor (BIA) under the Mental Capacity Act is also currently incorporated into the programme.
The programme is delivered in close partnership with a number of employing agencies across the South of England and is delivered at a number of different locations. The programme is approved by Social Work England and is mapped directly to the AMHP professional requirements.
The successful External Examiner will need to be appropriately experienced and registered and will need to have the necessary expertise in terms of the professional role. You will also need to meet Bournemouth University External Examiner appointment regulations, preferably having previous External Examiner experience. Appointments are normally made for a four year period.
