External Examiners for BSc Physiotherapy programme – September/October 2018 start

The Physiotherapy Department of the School of Population Health and Environmental Sciences of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, King’s College London, is seeking to appoint external examiners from September 2018 for our BSc Physiotherapy programme.

We welcome expressions of interest from senior academics committed to supporting teaching, learning and assessment processes. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from those with considerable experience in the management of excellent pre-registration undergraduate physiotherapy education, quality assurance processes and contemporary evidence-based practice.

The Department of Physiotherapy has an international reputation for research and education and is uniquely placed within the School of Public Health and Environmental Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences.

The role of External Examiner is to assure the quality of awards with respect to national standards. Key duties include:

  • Advising boards of examiners on the content and standard of assessment
  • Moderating samples of exam scripts and other assessed materials
  • Attending boards of examiners to approve awards and degree classifications
  • Advising on academic misconduct and appeal cases
  • Submitting an annual report to the College Principal
