Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences, is seeking to appoint the following external examiner from September 2017 for Prescribing Programme within our CPD provision. We were awarded a contract to deliver a multi professional, multicentre Prescribing programme in the Southwest and deliver to over 400 students a year. The successful examiner will work in partnership with the examiner for Pharmacist prescribing.

Essential Criteria

  • Current NMC registration; any field of Nursing or Midwifery
  • Prescriber on the NMC register
  • Familiar with NMC / HCPC prescribing standards
  • Educated to Masters Level
  • Involved in teaching or leading a non-medical Prescribing programme

Venue for delivery : Bristol (Glenside campus), Gloucester, Truro and Plymouth
Number of runs per year: 6
Cohort size: up to 50 per module run
Contributes to: MSc Advanced Practice, MSc Specialist Practice, BSc (Hons) Specialist Practice.
Tenure: 4 years
Field (exam / module ) Boards – February, June, July and November. We expect External Examiners would be able to attend at least 2 out of the 4 of these.
