The University of Bolton, School of Clinical & Biomedical Sciences, is seeking to appoint an external examiner for the MSc in Physician Associate Studies. The successful candidate will externally examine the medical associate provision.
External examiners play a central role in the maintenance of the standards of the University’s awards and the currency of the curriculum. The duties will include the review of the students’ academic work and attendance at exam boards (may be face to face or virtual). The successful candidate will be required to review samples of student work on modules within the programmes, endorse marks to confirm that the marks are agreed, fully moderate and externally examine sets of results; submission of annual reports; attend appropriate boards of examiners and consider any programme modifications.
The successful applicant will be responsible for reviewing modules that are to be delivered at Level 7 The post will commence from April 2024.
External examiner appointments are typically for a period of four years. Applicants with relevant experience and knowledge at level 7 is required, support will be provided for those new to the role.
