The School of Nursing in the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education at Kingston University and St George’s, UoL, is seeking to appoint four external examiners to modules and programmes within its pre-registration nursing programme:
We require the following external examiners:
1 Mental Health
2 Adult
1 Child
The successful applicants would be appointed with effect from October 2014 for a term of four years. Experience as an external examiner is preferred but applications will be accepted from individuals new to the examining role who are responsible for the delivery of pre-reg programmes or modules.
Applicants must hold current NMC registration in the appropriate field and hold a recorded teaching qualification with the NMC. We operate an on-line submission, marking and feedback system so experience of Turn-it-in and Grade mark would be desirable.
All appointments are subject to meeting the University’s criteria for the appointment of external examiners.
We are unable to accept applications from University of Herts, London South Bank, Sheffield Hallam, Oxford Brookes, University of Central Lancashire, University of Plymouth, Buckinghamshire New University or Middlesex.
Number of runs per year: 1 (contributing to BSc (Hons) Nursing/Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, Mental Health) and PgDip Nursing/Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, Mental health))
Tenure: 4 years to September 2018
Field (exam/module) Boards . Examination Board dates will be confirmed upon appointment. We expect external examiners would be able to attend at least 2 of these per year.
The external examiner will also have responsibility for the award and will be expected to attend the award boards each year.
