The University of Northampton is looking for an external examiner for:
The Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Perioperative Care and the Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Perioperative Care
Both programmes run as part of the University of Northampton’s partnership provision with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Postgraduate Certificate consists of one compulsory and one designated module:
• Compulsory module: Introduction to Advanced Perioperative Practice
Designated module selected from the following:
- Advanced Anaesthetic Care
- Advanced Surgical Intraoperative Care
- Advanced Recovery Care
The Postgraduate Diploma consists of four compulsory modules:
- Introduction to Advanced Perioperative Practice
- Advanced Anaesthetic Care
- Advanced Surgical Intraoperative Care
- Advanced Recovery Care
The both programmes run once per academic year and recruits Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners. Students can apply to take either the Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma.
We are looking for someone:
- who is suitably qualified with expertise in the above areas, ideally a Programme Leader or Senior Lecturer on similar programmes;
- who is a registrant with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- previous experience as an external examiner is preferred but not essential
The appointment will be for the four academic years 2019 to 2023, from 1 October 2019
