This is a senior role within the Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies (WELS) which will play the leading role in the shaping, development and implementation of a significant component of the Faculty’s strategy, namely its external engagement and relationships with third-party organisations. In conjunction with members of the WELS Executive, the role holder will identify and take responsibility pursuing opportunities to develop third-party relationships, enabling the curriculum, pedagogy, and research activities of the Faculty’s Schools to be opened to wider student audiences; ensuring the Faculty maximises the opportunities with the four nation (UK) political context.
Key responsibilities for this role will include, maintaining existing and developing new relationships with a range of external parties, being the principal point of contact for the faculty with partner organisations, units across the University and external third parties. This role will also work closely with the Head of School’s to take a leading role in the development of the Faculty’s third-parties’ strategy and plans as well as leading the faculty agenda on Community engagement.
Skills and Experience
The suitable candidate will have a personal interest in subjects that are within the Faculty’s curriculum and will have experience of working at a senior level within a Higher or Further education institution. Previous experience in a business development or account management environment is an essential requirement for this post with the ability to evidence development and delivery of business opportunities.
A strong understanding of the University’s values, including those relating to adult/open/distance learning and the ability to align these to development opportunities with third parties, as well as a strong commitment to excellence in working with a diverse student population is key or this role.
