We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual who has experience of teaching clinical skills to technicians and paramedics working across different environments, particularly pre-hospital urgent care settings. You will use your knowledge and experience innovatively, teaching and assessing applied skills and knowledge. As part of this role you will also provide on-going student support for course work and in other aspects of their student journey. Our aim is to provide applied education and research to ‘Make knowledge work’.

We work in partnership with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) across our region. Our students undertake a four-year degree spending their third year working with YAS before returning to the University in their final year.

We offer a range of developmental opportunities if you do not currently have a post graduate qualification and we can support you to complete a Masters award. We will also provide you with the opportunity to work towards a Fellowship of Advance HE through developing your teaching practice and experience, and you will be mentored by an experienced colleague and supported to develop your academic career through the University career framework. We are investing in our paramedic teaching resources with new clinical and teaching areas for use by September.

If you currently work in a clinical setting and wish to continue to do so on a part time basis, we are open to negotiating working arrangements and secondments with NHS employers, particularly if you would like a change in roles when the immediate COVID crisis is over. The University offers a supportive relocation package and will discuss pension options for those currently working in the NHS on an individual basis.

We welcome applicants who are from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic backgrounds who are currently underrepresented across our teaching and research teams.
