An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join the Vascular Research Department based at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH).
The post holder will primarily be responsible for the delivery of an NIHR funded research study exploring the effects of high intensity interval training upon walking performance in patients with intermittent claudication. Alongside this role, you will also be required to support the delivery of a group-based supervised exercise programme for patients with intermittent claudication.
You will be a skilled and experienced practitioner. You will set a high standard of patient care while assessing patient’s suitability to exercise. You will support the team to prescribe individualised exercise, perform exercise assessments and provide physical activity advice and education.
It is essential that applicants are qualified to Master’s degree level in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation/Clinical Exercise Science or equivalent. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate considerable clinical experience in caring for patients with cardiovascular disease and chronic conditions with associated co-morbidities. Ideally, the applicant will have previous experience within a research environment. It is important that the applicant be enthusiastic, motivated and interested in research.
This is a fixed term post for 6 months at 0.4 FTE.
