The BSc (Hons) / PG Dip Person-centred Practice (District Nursing) programme at Queen Margaret University- Edinburgh (QMU) is supported by staff from the School of Health Sciences. QMU has a large multi-professional portfolio of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels providing learning and teaching opportunities from Certificate to Doctorate level within the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
We are seeking an External Examiner for the SPQ Community Nursing in the Home-District Nursing, at SCQF Levels 10 & 11. The modules to be examined are Advancing Person-centred Specialist Practice, Advanced Approaches to Clinical Assessment and V300 Prescribing. There are a number of students on these modules who undertake study as stand alone units.
This programme use varied teaching and learning approaches to assist students to draw out the learning potential from their own practice, and apply theory to practice. A blended model of learning is used including VLEs, face to face learning experiences together with work-based learning. A range of assessment strategies are utilised including exams, written assignments, reflective accounts and e-portfolio.
