We are seeking to appoint an external examiner for Adult Nursing, to our new and exciting pre-registration nursing curriculum commencing Sept 2019. On completion, students are eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council in one of the four fields of nursing.
As the course is largely integrated, external examiners will be expected to undertake some work across the fields. Field-specific modules will, however, be allocated to external examiners from that field. External examiners will be required to contribute to the assessment process, moderate and report on student work, visit practice placements, attend Course Assessment Boards and submit an annual report.
Appointees will have relevant field-related experience, academic qualifications to postgraduate level, including a recordable teaching qualification and will be registered with the NMC. Previous experience as an external examiner would be an advantage but not essential. The existing external examiners for learning disability, child and mental health nursing would be a source of support. An induction programme is provided for External Examiners.
The post will commence with immediate effect. All appointments are for a period of four years.
