This exciting position is a newly created post in the School of Nursing & Midwifery at Birmingham City University and is jointly funded by Birmingham Women and Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will play a key role in providing strategic leadership for research and development of staff to increase capacity and capability for research and knowledge transfer between the two partners within in the discipline of Midwifery Practice and Maternal Health.
A key objective for the role will be to ensure research outputs from both partners is disseminated and utilized as well as building on the current research based culture. The role will be essential in supporting new midwives and talent spotting those that will need support to develop the research portfolios of the future.
By doing so you will build collaborative research and academic networks across the Faculty and Trust and wider Birmingham organisations. Whilst in post, you will be expected to develop and maintain a personal national/international research profile; publish in refereed journals and contribute to the Faculty’s REF submissions.
You will also be require to contribute to teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as applicable and to support workforce development, through the recruitment and supervision of PhD students and other academic training activities.
The post carries the opportunity for the successful applicant to be awarded a personal professorial chair, provided they meet the requirements for conferment of the title at interview. (Attach link to Conferment doc)
