An exciting opportunity exists for a committed and passionate assistant lecturer to join the established Institute for Posture, Movement and Handling team. Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to study right in the heart of the city and The Faculty of Health Education and Life Sciences is looking to recruit a full time Assistant lecturer within their Institute for Posture, Movement and Handling on a permanent basis.
You will be expected to support the Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences through the Institute in the delivery and facilitation of internal and external moving and handling training, research and consultancy that contributes to the provision of a national workforce that is safe and caring, engaged, efficient and innovative. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the Institutes research and scholarly activities.
As an Assistant lecturer your main remit will be the teaching of patient handling to our Undergraduate Healthcare students alongside other members of the Institute team. As an Institute we pride ourselves on constantly developing cutting edge teaching methods in moving and handling and ways of working in partnership with our students, industry and local stakeholders.
You must hold a First Degree in a Health related subject or have equivalent experience and demonstrate on-going personal and professional development and appropriate study in moving and handling training and development. Successful applicants would be offered a place on the University’s Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education Programme.
