Situated within the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, the Helen McArdle Nursing and Care Research Institute carries out applied research across health and social care settings and has an ambitious growth plan. The University of Sunderland is one of the five regional universities which make up the NIHR North East and North Cumbria Applied Research Collaboration (ARC).

The Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) is a collaboration between the region’s universities, NHS, local authorities, voluntary organisations, charities and businesses in the region to address major regional and national health and social care issues. There are eight themes within the ARC. Focusing on the ARC theme of Multimorbidity, Ageing and Frailty (MMAF), there is an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to join our team in the Institute and make a positive contribution to our regional ARC.

The successful candidate will need to hold a PhD or equivalent, have experience of carrying out applied research in health and care settings and have evidence of high quality publications.
