The School of Health within the University of Central Lancashire is a major provider of pre and post registration healthcare education in the North West of England.
The School is seeking to appoint a new external examiner for our Advanced Certificate Return to Practice. This popular NMC approved programme, recruits a maximum of three small cohorts per year.
External Examiners are expected to oversee the quality of the course from an academic and practice perspective and attend one Course Assessment Board per year.
1. Be appropriately registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a nurse and as a teacher.
2. Be currently employed within a UK university with no formal links with the University of Central Lancashire in the last five years.
3. Have experience of pre-registration nursing education programmes and/or Return to Practice provision.
4. Ideally have previous external examining experience, although applicants new to external examining will be considered.
All new examiners to the University will be expected to attend an Induction Event for External Examiners. Tenure of appointment is four years.
