The Division of Nursing, School of Health Studies, University of Bradford is seeking to appoint two External Examiners in adult and Children’s Nursing for the academic session commencing September 2014. A background in the relevant field of nursing is required along with evidence of scholarly activity.
It is expected that the appointee will be specifically involved in modules that comprise the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult/Child) Programme. The programme jointly recruits 180 students annually across Mental Health, Adult and Child fields. A sample range of assessed work at levels 4, 5 and 6 will be required to be reviewed and ratified. Opportunity to review practice will be provided.
The tenure of appointment is for a four year period. All appointments are subject to approval by the Academic Quality Unit in the university.
The two tier examination board system comprises of Module Assessment Committees and School Boards of Examiners. All External Examiners are members of the School’s Committees/Boards of Examiners and have the right to be present at all meetings. The External Examiner is required to be present at the relevant Board of Examiner’s meetings for the modules s/he is responsible for.
