Currently we have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding academic to join the School of Nursing and Midwifery to lead, manage and develop a group of academic staff from across the midwifery discipline and to make a substantial contribution to the newly formed Centre for Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work Research. As the Lead Midwife for Education you will join the University at a time when health care education and care delivery is undergoing rapid change and we are looking for an individual who can work effectively and flexibly with partners and staff to ensure our courses lead the way in midwifery education and research.

The successful candidate will be registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register, hold as a minimum a Higher degree in Midwifery, or closely related subject and have significant experience in teaching, learning and research. A proven track record of leading and motivating teams and a commitment to engagement in Advanced Scholarship, Research and Enterprise is essential.

A Professorial appointment will be considered for the right individual who fulfils the additional criteria, which will include the requirement for a PhD, together with experience in leading research and academic teams and demonstrable experience of successful grant applications and income generation.

This post is permanent working 37 hours per week / 1.0fte. An enhanced DBS check is required for appointment to this post
