Northumbria University, Faculty of Health & Life Sciences, currently has a vacancy for 3 External Examiners within the post-qualifying Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Framework and the Post Graduate Programmes.

It would be preferred, though not essential, if the candidate had previous experience as an external examiner.

The role will involve acting as external examiner for a range of academic modules within our BSc (Hons) Practice Development Degree Award and the MSc in Practice Development. These modules relate to a spectrum of physical health issues and associated care, interventions and practice development. Students on the CPD framework are predominately from nursing roles, as are the external examiner team you would be joining so therefore it is a requirement that the successful applicant should be a current NMC registrant.

Though all applications will be considered, we are at this time particularly interested in securing external examiners with experience in:

– Msc Practice Development
– Emergency Care Practice
– Practice Development
– Cancer care
– Palliative Care

In addition to academic modules within these areas, external examiners will also be called upon to examine more generic/core modules within the CPD Framework. Though predominately at degree level, there is an increasing academic provision at Master’s level across the post qualifying programmes.
