The Faculty of Health and Science seek to appoint a highly motivated Registered, Children’s Nursing Lecturer to work within the Department of Nursing and Midwifery. Their role will be to plan and deliver high quality teaching to support a graduate framework in nursing. They will have a primary role in undergraduate pre-registration nursing across the whole curriculum, including all fields and within interprofessional learning. They may also be asked to support other programmes within the faculty. The post holder will work within the Nursing and Midwifery Standards of Professional and Education Practice. An important aspect of the role will be the creation and maintenance of effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, partner agencies and service users and carers. This includes educational audit and links with placements areas.
This post is offered for consideration by a Registered Nurse (Children’s) with a minimum of four years post qualification experience. We are looking for someone who is willing to take an opportunity to provide a range of innovative approaches to supporting student learning in the discipline of Nursing. The University is committed to achieving Research degree awarding powers, thus the successful candidate would be expected to develop their research skills as part of a departmental approach to increase nursing research in nurse education and ultimately practice development and patient experience. Knowledge of contemporary issues in relation to Children’s nursing and their carer’s is essential. Please note that the successful applicant will be required to complete a course of study leading to a recordable teaching qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery.
