The BSc (Hons) Professional Practice in Health & Social Care programme is a top up degree which aims to facilitate the healthcare practitioner in the further development of knowledge, skills and expertise required of registered healthcare professionals. Practitioners will be able to develop the skills required to reflect upon, evaluate and extend their practice, applying knowledge and understanding to deliver high quality evidence based care which impacts positively upon patient and service user experiences and improves population health outcomes.
The Associate Programme allows students to access a wide range of CPD courses as standalone entities. Students who complete courses as an associate student can then utilise any credit gained at a future point as part of the Faculty’s MA / MSc and BSc programmes. This programme facilitates a flexible approach to advancing knowledge and skills which has the potential to enhance both patient care / patient outcomes and the career prospects of the healthcare practitioner.
The NMC approved courses that are the primary focus for this external examiner vacancy are the Mentor Preparation courses and the Return to Practice course for Nurses or Midwives course.
The successful applicant must hold current registration with the NMC as a nurse.
The tenure is over a four year period commencing January 2018.
In your role as external examiner for the above vacancies you will be required to examine assessments and student work ensuring parity of provision by reviewing the standard of assessments, the fitness for purpose of quality processes relating to the assessments and the level of achievement our students’ attain.
