An opportunity has arisen within the School of Nursing for registered nurses (Children) to join our highly committed pre-registration children’s nursing team as part time Lecturer. The successful applicants will be enthusiastic and visionary and keen to shape nurse education.
Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and hold a first degree (honours preferred in a health related subject). A postgraduate teaching qualification is desirable.
Extensive, contemporary practice experience is essential and the successful applicant will have a keen interest in developments in Children’s Nursing. Utilising teaching, learning and assessment skills, you’ll be committed to the success of your students and be able to show that you can effectively support learning and teaching in the classroom and in practice areas. You will have taken an active role in the teaching and assessing of student nurses in practice. Experience in higher education would be preferable.
The successful applicant will assist in the development and delivery of the children’s nursing pre-registration programme, post graduate studies and research. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will teach across a range of courses and will be required to act as module leader. Good communication/interpersonal skills and presentation/IT skills are essential.
