We are a UK network of senior academics in midwifery and maternal and newborn health. The network was established to:

  • inform and make an impact on evidence-based strategy and policy in health, health services, education, regulation, and research related to midwifery and maternity services and to the health and well-being of women, babies, and families in the UK and globally
  • advocate for and enable the growth of UK research capacity and capability in midwifery
and to advise the Council of Deans of Health on midwifery and related areas

Membership is open to all UK Professors in midwifery and maternal and newborn health. List of group members

The network is coordinated by Professors Helen Cheyne (University of Stirling), Vanora Hundley (Bournemouth University), Mary Renfrew (University of Dundee),  Jane Sandall (Kings College London),  Jenny Gamble (Coventry University) and Soo Downe (University of Central Lancashire).
