The UK Network of Professors in Midwifery and Maternal and Newborn Health has written two rapid responses in relation to topical issues.
The first rapid response was to the BMJ Commission on the Future of the NHS and an article on The NHS founding principles are still appropriate today and provide a strong foundation for the future.
The second discussed the debate raised by the updated NICE guidance regarding the use of sterile water injections as a pain relief option for women experiencing backpain in labour: Intrapartum care–updated summary of NICE guidance.
