Dr Paula Holt, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean at the University of Derby and trustee of the Council of Deans of Health, has been honoured with an MBE for her services to education, the NHS and Veteran Health in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. The award is an acknowledgement of her long service as an adult nurse, mental health nurse and as an army officer before moving into education.
Professor Brian Webster-Henderson, Chair of the Council of Deans, said:
“I am absolutely delighted to hear that Paula is to receive an MBE. She has made a huge contribution over her career in practice, education and as a longstanding member of the Council where she now also serves as a trustee. This honour is richly deserved”.
Dr Katerina Kolyva, Executive Director of the Council of Deans, added:
“On behalf of everyone at the Council, I would like to warmly congratulate Paula on this honour. She has played a significant role in the Council’s work and development, both as a member of the Council’s Executive leading our regulation portfolio and now as a trustee”.
