Securing a Sustainable Future

The Council has published its new strategic plan for 2018-21, Securing a Sustainable Future. The plan commits the Council to working in partnership, strengthening membership engagement and intelligence gathering to influence policy UK-wide for high quality education and research.

Professor Brian Webster-Henderson, Chair of the Council of Deans of Health, said:

“Our new strategic plan underpins the Council’s role as a multi-professional, UK-wide organisation providing a strong voice for our members. At a time when the strategic context of health higher education is changing rapidly, the Council’s ability to influence policy will be increasingly important”.

The strategic plan sets out three key priority areas for the next three years:

  1. Influence policy agendas UK-wide
  2. Secure sustainable funding for our disciplines
  3. Foster leadership and innovation

The three priority areas are aligned with the Council’s five policy portfolios:

  1. Workforce
  2. Research
  3. Regulation
  4. Global
  5. Education impact
