An external examiner is required for MSc Nursing Studies (Leadership in Clinical Practice) Oxford Brookes University (delivered in the UK and Hong Kong).
The MSc Nursing Studies (Leadership in Clinical Practice) is delivered as online distance learning or on-campus (United Kingdom) and through blended learning (Hong Kong). There are approximately 160 students on the programmes. Some modules are programme specific, but several are also taken by students in Hong Kong on the MSc Management in Healthcare programme (Advanced Research Design and Evidence Based Practice (approximately 90 students/year)/ These are also included in the External Examiner’s role.
Requirements: Must be a registered nurse, have experience of internal (and preferably external) marking/moderation of work at Masters level (level 7), and have current experience with online distance learning delivery of postgraduate courses. Experience with international postgraduate courses is desirable.
External Examiners are responsible for external moderation of assessments, attending Subject Exam Boards and completing an annual monitoring report. They are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications to modules and the development of new modules within their area of expertise. The appointment is from 1 April 2017 and will be for a period of 4 years.
