This preregistration programme has approximately 350 students per year divided across two intakes.
Post 1 – will require consideration of assessments for the larger September cohort related to six modules of study including observation at OSCE events. This role is shared with another External examiner.
Post 2 – will require consideration of assessments for the January cohort related to six modules of study including observation at OSCE events
Applicant must be registered with the NMC.
The appointments are to commence in September 2017. The successful applicants will be invited to attend an induction day prior to commencement of the role.
Responsibilities include: commenting on draft assessment guidelines, commenting on draft examination papers, reviewing samples of students’ work, attending meetings of examiners (usually one per year), and submitting an annual report. We are also pleased to arrange for our external examiners to visit clinical areas and meet students and mentors if appropriate.
